After 22 years of dedicated service as a Victoria Police Officer, Shane experienced firsthand the profound impact of PTSD resulting from numerous traumatic incidents. As a single father, he faced daily struggles compounded by the effects of PTSD and the burden of concealed emotions.

Discovering lawn bowls proved to be a turning point. The social connection and the mindful nature of the game offered immense support and healing.
Inspired by this personal experience, Shane and his friend Cameron established Bowl For Your Lives.

Their mission is to share the therapeutic benefits of lawn bowls, break down societal stigmas surrounding mental health, and encourage others affected to embrace this inclusive sport. Shane is committed to ensuring that no one feels isolated in their mental health journey, fostering hope, and inspiring a supportive community.

Cameron's journey is a powerful testament to hope and resilience. After five years in an unexpected darkness that seemed endless, his commitment to positive lifestyle choices and unwavering resilience helped him emerge stronger than ever.

His is a story that desperately needs to be heard by anyone who believes their own story is over.
Lawn bowls was never on Cameron's radar, yet its subtle social atmosphere offered a gentle pathway back to truly living. What began as a way to reintegrate soon transformed into something more profound.

The great game took hold, quieting the negative thoughts and reawakening his competitive spirit.
Alongside Shane, Cameron co-created Bowl For Your Lives, a venture that served not only as a personal healing journey but also as a platform to champion the positive impact of lawn bowls on mental well-being.
It's clear to Cameron that a fundamental shift is needed in how we perceive mental health and how we view and treat those who are struggling.
